In the framework of large international research projects, two positions for Research Assistants
(Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter/innen)
Salary follows TVD-L, Verg.-Gr. 13
are to be assigned at the Lehrstuhl für Informatik 6 (Prof. Dr.-Ing. H. Ney) within the Computer Science Department at RWTH Aachen University, starting at the nearest possible date. Initially, the positions will be limited to 4 years. Your duties comprise research and project work in the area of Image Text Recognition
Machine printed and handwritten text recognition for European languages (like English, French or Spanish) and Non-European languages (like Arabic, Bangla, or Farsi).
and/or
Sign Language Recognition and Video Processing Video processing for European signed languages (like German sign language (DGS) or sign language of the Netherlands (NGT)) and Non-European signed languages (like American Sign Language (ASL)). In
addition, an adequate contribution to the teaching and exercise
service of the institute is expected. The possibility to pursue a
doctoral degree is given.
