Lab Course - Data Mining Cup
The Data Mining Cup Lab is a labratory course given annually by the Human Language
Technology and Pattern Recognition Group (Lehrstuhl für Informatik
6).
Since 2000 the
Data-Mining-Cup is an annual event where students can
compare their abilities in solving a real-life data mining task
and win nice prices.
The aim of the lab course is to participate in the competition as
successful as possible.
Current Data Mining Lab Courses
Currently there is no information regarding new Data Mining Lab Courses. Information regarding the next Data Mining Cup Lab, will likely be available here in February, March, or April 2009.

History
2004
The Data Mining Cup lab was first organised in 2004 by
Thomas Deselaers and Daniel Keysers. In 2004, only 3 students
participated and obtained the ranks 1, 3, and 5 out of 97 student
submissions.

In 2005, DMClab was organised by Thomas Deselaers and Daniel
Keysers, 9 students participated, one student from our Data-Mining-Cup
lab won the Data-Mining-Cup 2005. All other students from the
lab are among the top twenty from 147 submissions in total.
