Welcome to the old homepage of Daniel Stein.
From 2006-2011, I have been a PhD student within the Human Language Technology and
Translation Group
at the Chair of Computer
Science 6 of the RWTH Aachen
University.
I am now working at the Fraunhofer Institute Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS. Please visit my new homepage.
The main research topics of the chair are

- Automatic Speech Recognition
- Statistical Machine Translation
- Image Processing
My personal research interests were mainly hierarchical phrases for automatic translation, sign language, incorporation of sign language recognition features.
I am author of Jane, RWTH's open-source hierarchical phrase-based translation toolkit, free for non-commercial use.
